Q: Where are your deodorants made?
A: Our products are made in England.
Q: Do you test on animals?
Q: Why do you only use natural ingredients?
A: Because the human body absorbs up to 80% of products applied to the skin. By only using natural, non-toxic ingredients we can be sure that you will not be absorbing any toxins from our product.
Q: How do they work?
A: Our deodorants are totally natural, amazingly effective and will ensure you stay smelling fresh all day. They contain ingredients that will inhibit bacteria, prevent odour and nourish the delicate underarm skin.
Q: What’s the difference between your deodorants and a traditional deodorant?
A: The most obvious difference has to be the formula & packaging. Our deodorants come in glass jars which gives you control over how much you use each day. The light, creamy consistencies melt into the skin instantly, giving you total peace of mind.
Q: How do I apply your deodorants?
A: After showering apply a small amount under each arm using a light sweeping motion.
Q: Is it safe to use whilst pregnant?
A: Firstly, “Congratulations!” and yes, our formulation and the the essential oils used are safe for use in the second and third trimester of pregnancy.
If in doubt, check with your doctor first.
If you are unsure about which essential oils are safe for pregnancy, please choose our Gentle Deodorant Cream ‘Unscented’ as this contains no essential oils.
Q: How do I store them?
A: Store them in in a cool dark place, out of direct sunlight. Ensure that the lid is sealed between uses. If your house becomes very hot in the summer, you can store your deo in the fridge to keep it from melting.
Q: What should I do if it melts?
A: Occasionally our deodorants may soften in very warm weather. If this happens, shake your deodorant (to ensure the ingredients do not separate) and place in the freezer for around 60 minutes. If your house is very hot in the summer you can store our deodorant in the fridge.
If you live in a cold climate and your balm hardens in low temperatures, place the pot in a sink/bowl of warm water.
Q: Do they go off?
A: Our deodorants have a long shelf life. If they remain unopened they can be stored for 2 years. Once opened they have a 6 month shelf life. Our deodorants usually last between 4-8 weeks with daily use.
Q: My skin is sensitive, can I use your deodorants?
A: We recommend everyone orders a sample if they have never used our deodorants before. We also suggest a patch test if you are concerned about sensitive skin.
Q: Can I apply the deodorant after shaving?
A: Usually our Gentle Deodorant Cream and Clean Deodorant Balm can be applied straight after shaving.
Q: I have a nut allergy, can I use your balm?
A: As one of the ingredients in our balm is coconut oil we would have to recommend speaking to your Doctor before using.
Interestingly, the coconut is a member of the palm family and is only a distant relative to the tree nut. The botanical distance between coconuts and tree nuts would suggest that people with tree nut allergies could in fact tolerate coconut.
Q: I’m looking for an antiperspirant, is this for me?
A: Our deodorants do exactly what they say they do: They deodorise. This means it prevents odour (and it really works). Antiperspirants prevent sweating by blocking the pores using aluminium. Without sweat, the bacteria cannot metabolise proteins and fatty acids that cause body odour. We believe aluminium causes a whole host of trouble once inside the body, so we would never use it.
Q: Why is it in a pot? Can’t you put it in a stick?
A: Over the years we’ve become passionate about our deodorant pots. Why do we apply foundation, hair serum and even foot cream without batting an eyelid…but when it comes to our underarms we would rather keep them at a distance?
Feeling the delicate skin under our arms isn’t just ok, it’s essential. Our underarms are home to the highest concentration of lymph and sweat glands and we should all be familiar with this area of our bodies. Applying our deodorants allows us to become acquainted with this previously overlooked part of our bodies and this enables us to check for changes.
Our deodorant creams and balms are PERFECT for a pot. Due to the nature of our natural ingredients, sometimes in warm weather the formula softens a little and if it was in a stick applicator this simply wouldn’t work.
The final reason we will not be creating stick deodorants is because it involves using either plastic containers, which goes against our environmental stance, or cardboard containers which we find gets messy quickly when used with balms and oils.
